When rear ended by life, God provides

The Dealership  We all know the shock of being rear ended by unexpected trials in life, but there is hope! On May 27, 2026, very recently, I was rear ended hard! All kinds of emotions surfaced. I was concerned about the pain I was experiencing, but the emergency room said I had no broken bones, just very sore muscles.  Thank God! I had a 2015 vehicle with low mileage that ran great, so I wasn't motivated to seek out another car. Then my car was totaled, therefore I had to go find another one. I found one at the dealership with updated safety features and technology. This prompted me to think of God as the Dealership, as well as being the Creator and Owner. Here people depend on the salesperson and the mechanic to help move about in life. God contains all we need, that is, what people seek can be found in this "dealership". We all want to find something to take us from point A to point Z. From birth un...

What is my purpose?

What is my purpose in life? How would you live differently if you believed God intentionally designed you to impact others, that is, designed you with a purpose? Hindu philosophy calls this purpose or goal Dharma; Buddhists call It Nirvana; Muslims call it Ibadah and in Jewish traditions the purpose of life is called Tikkun Olam. Christianity calls our purpose Vocation/Calling. All in light of the Divine. I believe that each of us is designed by God for the purpose to further God's kingdom here on earth. Each one of us is given varied gifts and talents to fulfill our purpose. We are all born into a community and have the innate ability to impact those around us. "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace" ~ 1 Peter 4:10 or as Robert Leo Byrne, author and columnist put it "The purpose of life is a life of purpose ".  So, I ask myself, what is my purpose in life? I feel it is to choose actions based on wh...

Jesus breathed His last

Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. The veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. ~ Mark 15:37-38 Matthew, Mark and Luke all talk about the veil of the temple/sanctuary being torn in half, from top to bottom at Jesus' death. The Temple of Jerusalem was separated by a veil, that is, the innermost part that housed the Holy of Holies was separated from the outer part that encased the temple. The innermost part was only entered by the High Priest on Atonement day. Now because Jesus died, the tearing of the veil allowed God, the Holy of Holies to be accessible to all.  As I reflect on these passages regarding the torn veil, I also see Jesus' humanity and divinity being torn in two at his death. The body of Jesus was now separated from His Spirit/Soul ( until they reunite at the Resurrection). "I commend my Spirit" Jesus says, leaving his body behind. Jesus' body is the temple of the Spirit, that is, The Holy of Holies, and the veil that sepa...
